Queering Recovery
An 8-Week Virtual Harm Reduction Group for the New York LGBTQ+ Community

Are you...
Struggling with traditional 12-step recovery models?
Looking to connect with other queer people in recovery from substance use?
Curious about what’s possible when we approach recovery with more nuance?
Welcome to
Queering Recovery.
An 8-Week virtual harm reduction group for LGBTQ+ people that navigates topics such as early recovery, relationships in recovery, 12-step and ways it works/doesn’t work, and more.

Participants will come away with an understanding of the queer history of harm reduction, practical tips for approaching harm reduction, and a better grasp of how to move forward on a path that isn’t strictly abstinence-based. Led by a trans person in recovery.

What to Expect
Building Your Unique Recovery Journey
Through looking at the 12-Step model, discussing attachment styles, and learning about ways you can tailor your journey to yourself, we can work together to build recovery tracks that make sense for you.

No two journeys are the same – you deserve a recovery track that works with you.
Recovery Through Harm Reduction
This group operates using harm reduction strategies and concepts to reduce shame and stigma around substance use and recovery.

Harm reduction ensures that you are treated with dignity and respect throughout your recovery process.
Healing Space by and for Queer Adults
Harm Reduction itself has its roots in queer history, and this group is no different. A trans person in recovery leads this 8-week group for fellow LGBTQ+ adults.

A healing space made and facilitated by people who have been exactly where you are now? It’s not just possible. It’s here.
Program Cost
This group is being offered at $50 per one-hour session with an 8-week commitment.

Sliding scale slots available based on financial need. If you are interested in a sliding scale spot, please inquire for more information at info@magnolia-psychotherapy.com
